I came across this video it seems kinda odd like it is mixed martial art school. A bit Aikido and Kung Fu?

Teaching a some kind of Aikido knife self defense.

Is this some thing new they are doing now? More mixed martial arts now mixing in two styles or more.

Why is this system better for self defense than just taking Aikido or Kung Fu? Why mix it? A bit of Aikido and Kung Fu!!!

What type of Kung Fu is this? Why is mixed system better a bit of Kung Fu and Aikido than on it on in self defense.

I'm pretty sure that by MMA training they mainly mean Muay Thai.

The the other martial arts aren't included in MMA, whether Hapkido, Kung Fu, etc. Although Hapkido schools have adopted ground fighting more than I remember pre-UFC.

I'd like to know more about the particular roots of the Chuan Fa school since there is a Chuan Fa branch of Kajukenbo.

Making things up and using the names of several exotic sounding martial arts is probably more common than anything else.
