So I have heard my local martial arts club in the UK is starting up a freestyle wrestling class once. I am quite interested in going but what sort of thing should I roughly expect from an hour of freestyle? Is it all doing throws?

    Thanks!

Sweat, vomit, sweat, aches, pains and bruises....not necessarily in that order :D

Serioulsy it will be hard work but a LOT of fun!!

Honest training. Nothjng as spiritually liberating as realising you're useless at wrestling (a natural human past time).

I expected sweat! I normally look like I have had a shower fully clother by the time the warm up of other lessons is done!

Happy to work hard and look like an idiot though its what I usually do...

I have done judo before is it kind of similiar?

Now to convince the missus to realease me...

Judo is similar, but wrestling is more tiring because it's a faster pace and you can often have someone sprawling on top of you, which doesn't happen in judo.

It'll be the hardest hour of your entire life...until the next class that is.

I understand the sprawling part but i consider judo fairly fast paced?

Holding onto a gi requires a lot less effort than holding onto a sweaty body.

So I went, I got confused, found I was rubbish at it, got very sweaty and tired but overall I think I enjoyed it haha.

    Yeah I think so....

If nothing else it is a good workout. I do wonder if I am trying to spread myself too thin by trying to do everything though.

Also every other week my friend runs a kickboxong sparring session im not sure if to do one week on one week off? Im pretty rubbish at both!
