What is your go to strike/defense under pressure?

Some moves are more complicated and those moves until I feel I am completely and totally confident in them, I will likely not use them. There are certain moves that I practice more that are the most effective to drop or put an attacker down first.

    The ones I practice are:

1.kick to knee followed by tiger mouth
2.finger jabbed to neck behind sternum and fish hooking
3.kick to knee, spinning into opponent while thrusting elbow into sternum and back fist to nose and if necessary, while in motion using opposite elbow to turn and strike again followed by uppercut or tiger mouth
    4. open palm strike to nose to break and blind at same time short right hand step in strike to break sternum.

Some of these may not be ideal all of the time, but these are the ones that I recall first if any situation comes up where I feel I may have to use something to end a fight fast and hard.

Keep in mind I have only been taking the CH for about 2 months, so the muscle memory isn't there quite yet.

I think you have a very over-inflated opinion of what your techniques will achieve.

    Maybe in a film.

My go-to strike under pressure is a simple case of chin down, stand my ground and throw my right hand with the intent of punching it right through their face.
After that it's all based on how that went.

I practice my reverse punch constantly, that would be my go to in a self defense situation. That or a palm heel to the nose.

Also, what is a tiger mouth?

I've known two people break their sternum in martial arts.
One copped a full on spinning back kick.
The other landed on the point of a wooden short sword from about 5 foot up after a badly timed throw during a self defence demo.

If you can reliably break the sternum of someone intent on doing you harm then you are a better martial artist than me.

I would suggest that those moves in singularity would either just not work, or really annoy an opponent.

You really don't want to be annoying an opponent.

    Crash helmet
    Over-under clinch
Outer reaping throw or reaping hip throw.
    Or a straight right.

How do you know you can perform them under pressure?

What is your go to strike/defense under pressure?

Scream, flap, wet myself, panic, call for my mum and if that fails, good ol' windmilling.

...never get into a fight. Seriously. You'd end up getting killed.

Common in a lot of arts but don't restrict it to just the throat, it's handy for joint manipulation and spinal control too.

    +1.

Hey, at least he didn't trot out the 'lethal uppercut under the nose' :)

I always assumed it would be a good old reverse punch , but when doing some actual pressure testing I was surprised at how many kicks I threw.

The problem with these SiB is that they all require a lot of accuracy, don't offer any defence against your opponent's attack and crucially don't really deal with your opponent's momentum.
