when i was young, i had a quick fuse but as i grew older i learned to control it and MA has help a ton too i don't drink very often either
Totally Chinese through and through, ethnically speaking. Mentally though... Well I'm bit of a mongrel.
err... so when you say 'Chinese' what kind of Chinese? There are more than one. I'm assuming you mean ethnic Han Chinese.
Remember G, Kew-Do is fellow officer! We have to remain calm and collected. As for drinking, we P.O.'s see so much destruction caused from booze and drugs it makes many of us light weights. Not to mention that if we go off on a bender, good chance that our "neighbors" will phone in a complaint about "the drunk cop and his 'wild' parties". Safer to just stick with coffee and donuts.
LOL... That was funny,.....I am allergic to alcohol, I can't even take cough syrup! as far as the "coffee and donuts" I'll take the coffee!...I don't like anything that is real sweet and or starchy carbs like breads, rice, potatoes, pasta, etc.... For what I don't drink in alcohol, I make up in coffee! Kew-Do
At the beginning of the thread, I mentioned briefly my ethnicity. To break it down into more detail, in my recent family tree... ...on my dad's side: Predominatly German, but Swedish, Irish, Dutch, and English too. ...on my mom's side: -My grandfather: Mexica (Aztec). -My grandmother: Irish and something else (I don't know what), maybe some Scottish though too. A family pie chart might look something like this: (I know I've got some parts of it in thirds, but that was the easiest way to show it).
I'm curious how you figured out the Aztec/Mexica part? What is the family name on your dads side? From what part of Mexico?
You mean my mom's side? That's the side that's Aztec. One of my grandfather's favorite hobbies is genealogy. In his studies, he found that he is almost, if not, full-blood Aztec. My grandfather moved here from Mexico with his dad, mom, and siblings. At one point, probably recently, my ancestors lived in Chihuahua, Mexico. They speak fluent Spanish, not Nahuatl (Aztecan). There are thousands of people in Mexico today who are Aztec, but most speak Spanish now, and many have taken on Spanish last names, like my family did. But the cool thing...their name means "Valley", perhaps as in "Mexico Valley" as in "Mexico City" as in "Tenochtitlan" as in "City of the Aztecs". I don't look Aztec though. I take after my dad's side - German and Irish. I have reddish-blonde hair, green eyes, and light skin, lol!
Human (or so I'm told) Irish - McGonagill <--spelling possibly changed by american immigration. Scottish Yeah, and never ask for the McGonagill Coat of Arms at the Scottish Coat of Arms museum...if looks could kill...no sense of humor at all! Brian
William Topaz McGonagall was a great poet -well just about a poet. "Beautiful railway bridge of the silv'ry Tay Alas! I am very sorry to say That ninety lives have been taken away On the last sabbath day of 1879 Which shall be remembered for a very long time." And it ends: "Oh! Ill-fated bridge of the silv'ry Tay I now must conclude my lay By telling the world fearlessly without the least dismay That your central girders would not have given way At least many sensible men do say Had they been supported on each side with buttresses At least many sensible men confesses For the stronger we our houses build The less chance we have of being killed" that's why you got a bad reaction I bet.
Hmm, I'm both Black and Dominican so um I guess they're equal lol, It's hard for me to tell which I have more of sometimes.
I'm African-American with some Native american sprinkled in...lol. My wife is caucasian which gives my sons the privelige of being a little of everything. With all of the race mixing that went on hundreds, and hundreds of years ago, it's hard to really be sure of who is what anymore. I think that's a good thing. I love my culture and my heritage, but I'm a "Hu-man" before I'm a "Black man" Good thread.
