So you don't study Niten Ichi Ryu, you read a book and watch anime.

    Ok.

Enough of that as it was only out of interest I ask.

So could you tell us about this elbow smash you have mentioned?

It was written for his students.

Without training in the teachings of the ryu alongside it you won't get very far and you certainly aren't studying it.

Also the translation you are using will impact on your understanding.

    So about that elbow technique?

Given the long list of arts you study how much training a week do you do in each? Is most of it at one gym or club or do you have do go to multiple teachers?

Does anyone prefer an ox jaw or ridge hand vs. a punch in the case of possibly breaking the knuckle(s)?

What's an ox jaw when it's at home?

    Depends where I'm hitting.

Generally I go with hard on soft and soft on hard.

I ask because I've broken my pinky knuckle before and even doing bag work will sometimes cause it to swell.
