I have no horse in this race..I'm in the UK, I didn't get the statistic of 47% from Romney..............FWIW Bush caused the problems with his idiotic wars and bad policy, and created your debt.......and he got away with it, it will all be blamed on the black guy...You shouldn't get so emotional about this stuff, politicians are out for themselves:cool:

The BBC did some coverage on the American election. And they used some of their fancy election graphics to illustrate just how big a job Romney had to do to win. Frankly Romney's task appears to have been near impossible going by the electoral college system. It's just not a good time for a millionaire to come along and tell everybody how to live. I don't know how wealthy Obama is. But he doesn't have that brash millionaire image or persona.

Whoever is actually in the White House isn't the most important thing right now. It's how America deals with the "fiscal cliff" it's headed towards. The US economy is so big it affects the whole world. So this matter affects us all. I hope Obama can break the grid lock and get a deal done.

Yeah, I'm not saying what I say with a sense of glee.we face really

"interesting times" as the Chinese proverb goes.it is bad for everyone, but I do think that some people are less affected ..look at Jon Corzine, with obama as a buddy he isn't going to face hardship or criminaL charges for ripping off some farmers...there is an upper echelon who will always ride the storm, always do well out of the hardship of the masses.as a working class man I have always said this.how many poor democrats are there ? is hilary poor, do you think obama will be on his uppers if the US economy burns , Nahh they know whats good for them.just don't buy into it'

And another, possibly equally important "election" is going on there right now.

Here's a little tid bit for you that explains what could happen, realize that this is date 8/12, however I wouldn't rule anything out as the "fiscal cliff" get's closer. If anything is going to get done Medicare has to be dealt with along with other entitlement programs, there's really no choice but to visit these issues.

I hate it when things like Social Security are called entitlement programs. Between what I paid in directly and income I could have earned but was paid into Social Security in my name by my employers it come to over 250K$.

Also for those folks who make over like 125K$ a year you don't pay any social security taxes on the money over 125K$ (that is a guess but pretty close to the actual value).

Tax the whole income would be a good start, take congress out of their own pension fund and put them in Social Security and I bet we would have a working program in no time flat.

    (Grrrrrrr.)

Anyone who wishes hardship on others in the deluded hope that they could profit from it is beyond contempt. You have no clue how evil the sentiment you expressed in that post really is, do you?

I don't care about politicians getting rich. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. I do care about people gloating over the prospect of a catastrophe, which is exactly what you were doing.

Debate is wonderful, but this is an early warning to be mindful of the TOS regarding insults and attacks when you post.

If any politician can get rich in his job, there is something wrong in the system.

During the Chinese national holiday day period, from 9/30 to 10/8, within eight days, a total of 115 corrupt officials, arrested for attempted flight from multiple ports, airports. From 9/30 to 10/1 only, this 24-hour, 51 flight arrested for corrupt officials, creating a flight attempted arrest records of the most corrupt officials in one day. They only carried cash about 31.3 million dollars, but money order, bank checks are up to more than 122 million dollars, one of the largest money order are US $ 12.12 million.

Out of all this mess with voting and the elections, I'm most interested in Colorado for the next 4 years. Maybe they'll have more chilled out people and less random shootings from crazies now since they legalized marijuana.

Just one question for the republicans here...

Does it ever cross your mind that if the vast majority of the rest of the globe disagree with you, you might want to rethink your political beliefs?

Reminds me of a favorite quote I heard as a child, "When the whole world seems like it's against you, then maybe there is something wrong with you and not the world."
