This is ridiculous. I'm at one year of training in BJJ and it occurred to me the other day that I don't even know what a dude who trains is BJJ is called. A guy who trains in Judo is a Judoka or Judo Player. You've got Karateka, Ninjers ( ), sorry Ninja, wrestlers, boxers, etc. Anyone know what the technically correct term is?
A glutton for punishment . Dunno actually it's never come up though I think steering clear of a Bjj-er would be a good idea.
Isn't the Portuguese term Jiujitsueiro? I feel like I've heard that before. And it has a nice ring to it.
damned noobs.... Technical term would be "Jiu-Jitsuka" but that's ghey. Acceptable terms are: BJJer (when typing) Jiu-Jitsu Player Jiu-Jitsu Fighter Submission Fighter Submission Artist Grappler Human Anaconda Monkey Choker "The Best"
Either your equipment is VERY oddly shaped or you just have a sick mind Oh and Pei...you should refer to yourself as a Boojjer. Note the double J.
BJJer is the most common ive seen typed and probably grappler for spoken, i dunno though or u could go with Lily's Boojjer
I refer to myself as "doing jiu-jitsu" if they inquire further I say "Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.. it's like Judo.. only with more wrestling on the ground". I then more often than not get referred to as being "a jiu-jitsu guy" Which I feel is appropriate
Is that what distinguishes it from the ninja? I've noticed that people in that forum refer to the Bujinkan as "the Booj." Which would mean that a Boojer was a ninjutsu practitioner, yeah? Stuart
