Has anyone ever heard of the Korean Musul Hapkido Association? Or heard of Grandmaster Long K Park? Thanks guys ~ Lea
Unfortunatley, no. I tried google-fu and my lack of success is why I thought I'd ask here. It's the organization of the school I attended I've seen one thing about Long K Park, but not much else.
Was it a Korean organisation, in the sense that the organisation was/is actually registered in Korea? Or was it a organisation registered in the US, but with a Korean sounding name? Here a list of some Korean hapkido organisations: 한국정통합기도협회 - Korea Orthodox Hapkido (http://www.krhapkido.com) 대한기도회 - The Korea Kido Association (http://www.kidohae.or.kr) 재남무술원 - 국제연맹합기회 - International HKD Federation (IHF) (http://www.hapkido.or.kr/) 대한국술합기도협회 - Korea Kuksool Hapkido (http://www.kukhap.com) 한민족합기도무술협회 - Hanminjok Hapkido Association (http://hmjhapkido.or.kr) 대한신무합기도협회 - Korean New Martial Hapkido Federation (http://www.koreasinmoohapkido.org) 대한합기도협회 - The Korea Hapkido Federation (http://www.hapki.or.kr/default/) 대한민국 합기도협회 - Daehanminguk hapkido federation (http://www.koreahapkido.kr) 세계합기도협회 - World Hapkido Assocation (http://www.whapkido.com/) 대한전통 합기도협회 - The Korea Traditional Hapkido Federation (http://www.kthapkido.com/) 대한국예원합기도협회- The Korea Kukyewon Hapkido Associaton (http://www.hkd.kr/main/main.php) 대한합기도협회 - The Korea Hapkido Federation (KHF) - (http://www.khf.or.kr/)
So you are already part of his organisation? Wouldn't it be easier to just talk to the man directly? Do you know is real Korean name? That would make finding info easier. Searching for 한국무술합기도 (that is what it says on the patch) doesn't produce any information. Seems like Mr. Park isn't connected to the internet yet
hmmm could it be yong kyu park? he was a kuk-sul master that came to the usa and settled in so-cal (i think anaheim area). the logo is VERY similar to the KS logos of the past... and names, well hangeul is tranliterated differently by many, especially that generation. my instructor spent some time with him back in the 80's, and if it who i think it is... he passed away.
That's very possible. I'm from SoCal so that adds up. Also I know our chief instructor trained in Hapkido, Muay Thai, and another Korean martial art. I can't remember which it was but Kuk Sul Do sounds right. So that's totally possible. Sorry to hear he passed away That'd be an epic coindience though if our instructors trained together ~ Lea
I've never met Mr. Park. I could ask at the dojo, but it'd be nice to hear it from an outside source, just to verify
