In Artificial intelligence (AI), when you solve a problem, you can have 3 approaches:

    1. forward search - you search from the root to the leaf.
    2. backward search - you search from the leaf to the root.
    3. bidirectional search - you start your search from both the root and the leaf. The search then meet in the middle of the tree.

    In your example, I assume

    - person A knows the difference between MA equipment training vs. body building training. He is using backward search.
    - person B doesn't know the difference between MA equipment training vs. body building training. He is using forward search.

Since person A will know exactly what he will need, his training time will be more efficient. Since person B doesn't know what he will need, he may not spend enough time on something that's important for him.

ahh but then doesn't person B know the technique better in sense doesn't he have an upper hand in executing the technique?

At the end of 10 years, both A and B will get to the same place.

At the end of 1 years,

    - A's approach is to lean technique 1st and enhance (get strong) later. A will be good in technique but not be very strong in general.
    - B's approach is to get strong 1st and learn technique later. B will not be very good in technique but much stronger (in general) than A.

so basically both practitioners will have their own pros and cons, hmmm so even people who are strong don't necessarily execute techniques perfectly in the case of a short period of time, thanks YouKnowWho :)
