Decreasing fat in the thighs What excercise decreases fat in the thighs? Is it squats, or something else? List all possible excercies and which one you think gives the best results Any help is appreciated.
Er, what do you mean tone? Do you want to build up strength in that area or do you want to increase muscle definition/decrease fat?
We know you're a noob but please .... PLEASE you must learn to refrain from using the "T" word here To "build up" quadriceps include SQUATS (all kinds), lunges, and leg press ... weighted (barbell), cable, dumbbell, lever, sled or smith or just bodyweight only.
KC's right. The word "tone" usually deserves a thwacking, but I'll let you slide. If I had to pick a single exercise, I've always convinced people to like sumo deadlifts: Sumo in action!
Despite what you may have heard on TV, 'spot reduction' of fat from a particular area of your body is impossible. You can build up muscle in the relevant area, and you can do aerobic exercise to lose weight. You can't change your genetic distribution of fat.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo....... *Runs screaming from the "T" word! Step AWAY from those pink plastic dumbells!
I think the best quote I've ever read about toning was by Ikken in this topic. ""toning" is for body sculpters, housewives, and the misinformed." Excellent!
:bang: :bang: :bang: I :bang: :bang: :bang: WONT :bang: :bang: :bang: SAY :bang: :bang: :bang: IT :bang: :bang: :bang: AGAIN :bang: :bang: :bang: just stop with the remarks look down at the similar threads. Two say the "t" word. go hassle them
.... been there, done that. You'll notice if you read through. And if you're bored later, you can put the word "tone" in the Search and rejoice that you're not the only one we've ripped into ... at least you know where Similar Threads are
I did read some of them, and all i saw was "dont use that word" or "we dont say that word here" I didn't see any hassling to the extent of which I was given. Maybe I'll go do it
To tone the thighs do front crawl at swimming and do jumping bodyweight squats. Basically crouch then leap up as high as you can. This really helps tone
If he did, either he's being sarcastic or he wants to unleash the full power of the "Anti-Tone" mob. *Runs off to find more poor mis-guided souls to put back on the path of muscular enlightenment*
Squats and deadlifts will give all over muscle gains. Eating less calories than you burn will cause you to lose weight. Eating plenty of proteins will stop your muscles being burnt as part of that weight loss, therefore the fat will go. Payments accepted via PayPal
OK ... one more time. Since you've edited this thread, I'll have to change my reply. I believe you originally requested something along the lines of training the thighs which would be all of most of the replies (squats, extensions etc.....) However, ask any woman about her thighs and she'll tell you firsthand that there is no way to spot reduce them suckers. I can't see how a guy would complain about his thighs other than they are too wimpy with no "definition" (take a look at Yoda's leg pics woohoo!) Now for flabby thighs, (which I tend to get when eating fatty foods or slacking off my leg exercises when muscle turns to fat) .. simply RUN. Running is great for the legs and the best form of cardio!
