Well not we have video embedding it's time to get this thread back on the move. This video was shot in response to some questions I had following a recent video posted by Ricky Hatton. A few people mentioned they had issues with distance, and in particular how to guage the correct distance from an opponent.
I been following that web series (as it were). Seems a lot of fun. At 2:20min. Rollng the shin across the ankles like that, (whilst the Opp is in the Referree's position), I was taught that move is illegal under Freestyle Wrestling rules. But also a great way to force them onto their side if you catch both ankles. So, whilst the Opponent is on all 4's. 1 arm over the waist, the other arm works the crossface/quarter nelson, then whilst the Referree is concentrating on what you're doing to the Opponent's head/face, you slide your shin across the back of the Opponent's ankles, which forces them to roll away from you onto their side, and it looks like you're successfull with the Crossface/QuarterNelson and maybe even get them on their back for the pin. (.....or so I'm told )
This is probably the only time I'll post a technique directly from the ninjutsu traditions. It was a bit of a one-off to have both the camera and some shuriken to hand The ninjutsu traditions have a lot of "What to do if you're caught and need to escape" and the use some unusual weapons - for obvious reasons perhaps The idea is to throw your opponent into a place where you can use a weapon to quickly frustrate his ability to chase after you before you leg it
Video today based on a question asked of me in class yesterday. How do you use the bag for cardio? I like theming the rounds and this method keeps the cardio up without having to throw loads of kicks and punches.
