I'm on lunch now, but breakfast today was porridge with a handful of sultanas, scoop of toffee whey protein and semi skimmed milk + a pomegranate tea

So...what goes in one of those? It sounds tasty...

A piece of toast, cup of tea with cream and a rice cake this morning.

    ...

I miss the days of night-old doner kebab :(

no. i've always felt an affinity for italy. ever since i was a child, i absolutely love the italian national soccer team. my favorite club soccer team: ss lazio. from italian food, to italian coffee, to italian mannerisms, to italian language, i just love it all. and in my experience, italians that i know or have met in italy, greece or in the states feel the same way about greeks.

ever heard the phrase "una facia, una racia"? "one face, one race". it's an italian phrase to describe their relationship to greeks.

Most of the South of Italy was colonized by the Greeks. And at some time the Romans started to copy pretty much everything they did

    See what this means :p

    EDIT:Giovanni, it's written "una faccia, una razza". :p :p :p
Can you speak Italian by the way? :)

That's interesting, because the Greeks I know don't have a lot of time for the Italians, because of the war. Although they don't detest them on anything like the same scale as they do Germans, of course.

    very little. sadly, no practice.

also, maybe i say it like that because my brother-in-law is married to a molisana, and that's how she says it.

interestingly.....all the greeks i know that were alive during world war 2, my father and various uncles, have said the same thing: they all liked the italian troops because they were nice to the kids; to a man, they detested the germans.

at the time, they were all kids, so take it with a grain of salt.

of course, they loved the american troops, because of...yellow cheese.

Oh, could explain it. In the South we keep mostly to our local dialects.

Here they loved the American troops because they brought cigarettes and chocolate. It seems that many went stealing the grapes from the fields though. :D

They kept saying that in a film, captain correlli's's mandoilin or something like that, there was Greek, Italian and Turkish characters in that.
You know that's because way wya back the Romans won the war but the Greeks won the peace.

I actually have 2 breakfasts. One at 0600hh which is either a banana or a fruit veg shake. Wash it down with Yakult and coffee. The next is at around 0930 which could either be a really good old fashioned filipino breakfast (meat/ fish plus eggs plus rice) or a couple more bananas.

I down at least 750mL of water 30 mins before each meal.

    Works for me.
