    Hello,

This is my first posting here. Earlier today, on another online MA forum, I replied to a man who was looking for info on training tapes or books for his girlfriend. I recommended two items (the best two I have ever seen) I have in my own library and really like on sexual assault prevention. These are:

"NO!, A New Look At Sexual Assault Defense" (www.nosexualassault.com)
    "The Gift of Fear" (www.amazon.com)

The forum I posted on is an Israeli military system, and they have a “thing” about BJJ. Any ground-fighting is BJJ to them and they seem to think it is the competition. The replies were ridiculous. I came to this forum because it seems interdisciplinary.

First, I would really appreciate any favorite works either video or print on rape prevention.

Secondly, the other forum seemed to think ground-fighting techniques for women were silly and wanted ridiculously savage things like eye strikes to be primary tools. If you go to the above website, what do you think of the training approach?

Please either post replies here or better please email them to me.

    Thanks!

I've edited the title of your thread and moved it over to our Women's SD forum....

I am sure you'll get a good share of replies here and comments as well! ;)

I think the best defence is to always travel with another person who is already trainned in fighting, it's what my gril friend dose.
(ps she also carries mace just in case)

I saw a condom-like thing the girl stuffs up in you-know-where with spikes inside it. When someone tries to rape her the spikes with their special shape need to be removed at a hospital, or else they will just dig further in your penis.
Think it was sold in Sweden. Read about it in a Norwegian newspaper I think.

man, that is scary. wear a chastity belt with a pad lock.

a long time ago, i think was native indonesians attacking indonesian chinese or chinese ppl in general. and gang rape was common on the street. Local businessman came up with something like an unbreakable undergarment sort of chastity belt kind of thing.

I have a question relating to rape?
A few years back, a girl joined our MA training and she asked us how would she fight off her attacker if she was already on the ground (face towards the ground). The attacker is mounting her.

Me and my friend was like ???, I said i know what do do if you were on the ground facing the attacker, but you are saying if your back was facing him that I really dont know.

    What do you think??

    it all depends on...

it all depends on the postion you are in,
if your hands are pinned, then youneed to kick (like trying to kick your own ass) as you kick roll toward one side or the other/while pulling to free your hands. this mutiple distraction method should atleast let you roll over and face the attacker.
I learned this using some shaolin do , and my own tequnices.

Do not try the above technique to defend yourself in that position. In fact, try it in the Dojo see how much effect it has.

Train in a grappling art, there are a LARGE number of escapes from mounts, backmounts and guard positions which are presumably common in rape scenarios.

    Some examples:

Do not attempt any of these without instruction from a qualified teacher.

    battlestone is absolutely wrong indeed.

It does not require training in any grappling art to realise you should not try to fight someone's legs and full weight with your torso (rotating)

Best defense against mounts is to trap him with your legs; try to get them wrapped around him. A grappler will have learned the outcome of specific movements, but most things you can do from the moment you trapped him with your legs will be beneficial (at least compared to being mounted). If you want to train that; be extra, extra careful! Legs are awfully stronger than arms, and applying what appears like little strength can still easily pop a shoulder, break an arm, wrist or finger. You don't need to practice this fast; take your time and don't apply any strength when your training partner's body offers ANY resistance.
