My instructor has been incredibly gracious and is allowing me to test even though I'm unable to spar (I'm almost 4 months pregnant). I had to do three forms: my required, one of his choosing and one of mine. He said through-out the years, during grading he has only written "excellent" 3 or 4 times on a student's test sheet for poomse and this is the first time ever he has written "perfect" ...I was incredibly pleased!! I've been working hard and it's been a challenge to continue to go throughout morning sickness, fatigue, hip issues etc... but tonight made it all worth it . I did a combination break for the first time and it included an elbow technique (I've only broken using a single kick in the past...so elbow/hand techniques are a new one too). It took me a couple of tries but I got it . My instructor went over my test sheet with me after class. I'm looking forward to getting my new belt. Not only because I've moved up in rank but also because I'm growing out of my current one...it's only going to get shorter from here (I actually requested that he order a size bigger to accomodate future growth) . Honestly, it's been such a privilege to be able to continue and I'm hoping to be able to for as long as possible. Thanks all for letting me share my excitement with ya'll !! Kelly
Congratulations - it's great that he is being so accomodating but he obviously recognises all your hard work. Well Done Sue
Well "Momma", I mean Kelly, great work! You have obviously demonstrated "Indominable Spirit" given your pregnancy and all! Definitly you will be a great Mom. Blessings to you and your family and may your pregnancy be one of nothing but joy and happiness. Size and morning sickness not withstanding...
Congrats Kelly, that's awesome! You and your baby obviously make a great team. He'll be kicking before you even know it.
