Strength Power without Bulk

    Usual dead horses being flogged in this thread. Allow me to say a few things.

    1. Think of Pyrros Dimas, often pointed as an amazing example of physical development and Olympic lifter power. He was 5'8" and 187lb at Athens 2004. At my height of 6'1" I'd need to weigh around a solid 215lb to be comparably built.

    How many people do you know that have this kind of development? Seriously, the only people who care about the kind of hypertrophy in their muscles are the people who never train seriously. JUST GET BIG AND STRONG!

    2. If I ever meet someone in person who holds up Bruce Lee as some final prophet when it comes to exercise or martial arts I'm gonna punch them in the face.

    3. As eloquently pointed out by Jamie Lewis, people living before the age of great mechanisation worked incredibly physical lives. If you develop the work capacity over time, there's no reason you couldn't train hard every day.
