Stores in the UK

There doesn't seem to be much in the way of actual stores/showrooms dedicated to martial arts in the UK. I have found something in Glasgow, that is all though. It seems too small to go out of the way for.

Anyone know where I can go to actually look at and touch stuff?

Pretty sure Bulldog Fight Store has retail store also.

Used to be a Muay Thai/MMA fight store in Nottingham but they closed down. Think there's still one in Birmingham though for the life of me I cannot remember the name of the shop.

Bigger gyms might have a shop but the interweb has had a hand in shutting most

I mentioned it to my wife and she said why when you can just order it online.

This applies to everything though, and people do visit stores to touch the real thing then go and buy the cheapest online version. Yet specialist stores still remain open.

I remember such pleasure visiting my first martial arts store, it was huge and I traveled an hour out of my way with a couple of friends to visit it. While there we met someone from a local shoot wrestling club who invited us to come along sometime. So we went back the next week.

Stores give so much more than just a show and tell (before purchasing from online retailer.)

    I am in Sheffield

Why recommend a store in the UK though if you are on the other side of the world?

    Or am I missing something?

I was really unimpressed with Paywell.

I thought the equipment was cheap and nasty and the lad behind the counter remained on his mobile phone the entire time I was in the shop.

Despite being the only person there he didn't even look up to acknowledge me.

So if this I thread is about being able to enter a shop and get a feel for the stuff, then Playwell is off of my list.

I've never been, ordered stuff online and it was reasonably good stuff.

It's possible to visit suppliers even if they don't have a retail outlet. All depends how much you're buying I guess but don't be afraid to pick up the phone and just ask. Visited a few in Manchester a few years back
