Hello. I'm about to be starting the MAs again, after the summer hiatus, and am going to a new dojo, as I had some problems with my old one. I'm wondering if people have an opinion on the combinations of training predominantly in Aikido/Judo and crosstraining in Arnis. I can either to Judo or Aikido, and am wondering which do you think would be more interesting and useful. I like the competition aspect of the Judo, but the philosophy of Aikido, however I know that philosophy isn't really much to go on.

Also, in Aikido, are the techniques ever practiced at full speed/with resistance? One guy punches like he would normally (not slow)?

I've never seen Aikido practiced against a resisting opponent. But who knows, I never trained in it.

My advice will be the cliche answer which is, check out both schools and see which one you like the best. ;)
