I'm currently considering Simulated Altitude Training to improve my fitness: - Has anybody tried this? And if so, did you notice an improvement in recovery time, could you go faster for longer? - What research is there with regards to changes in VO2 max? - What research is there with regard to changes for people with asthma?
When you travel to places of higher altitude, there is less oxygen available for you to breathe. Your body eventually adapts to this though and accelerates red cell formation. Simulated altitude training is where you would not have to actually travel to higher altitudes, but where you would train in a simulated environment of less oxygen (wearing a mask). Now about the OP's question though: no idea
