    Gentlemen,

    I stand corrected on various points.

    I think when I was trying to generalise the sera motions I saw as "simple" I really mean "direct and straightforward" as opposed to "complex" when I really mean "indirect" or ... how would you say it in malay ... "berbunga" ... "flowery, convoluted, involved".

    Many thanks to all posters - it was really eye opening for me to get your opinions on all relevant matters. I've recently purchased "The Weapons and Fighting Arts of Indonesia" by Donn Draeger - this seems quite an authoritative book although it is a little old (published in the `70s).
