So you would of sucker punched him, spewed the B word and the N word out of your mouth over and over again, and used terrible technique standing up and on the ground?

I've seen a video of the lead up to this also.

It doesn't change my opinion on the scenario.
WC guy was demonstrating a drill to a class it appears, and striped shirt guy is calling him out saying he's open whilst doing what appears to be a fairly standard drill.
Saying his groin is open (ah the classic groin, eye, ears, throat open for fatal attacks).

The video is on the wing chun teachers Facebook.

Obviously both are muppets engaged in muppetry...but...
Not offended by the use of expletives here really. Real violence has an emotional content (someone famous mentioned emotional content once...can't think who) and so people resort to that kind of language. Black guy was angry and felt disrespected in his class (with some reason I think). Don't think it hints at anything that bad about him. I know I can be quite the potty mouth myself. I know of one self protection instructor who uses the c word as his action trigger when using a pre-emptive.
I also don't feel this was a sucker punch. It was triggered by the head in the face from the stripy dude in the middle of mutual aggressive verbal.
In terms of terrible technique...hmm...real violence is scrappy. That's to be expected from spontaneous social violence. He took the guy down, maintained top position, threw some slappy strikes but neither one sustained much damage.

Seems fitting for Wing Chun. Cantonese is famously full of swearing, and Wing Chun is famous for terrible techniques! :p

Looks like he's an improvement on the masters of old, shame they didn't record sound so we could hear what they were calling each other:

I'm really not sure what you expect a fight to look and sound like. Is violence noble when done with clean language?

I mean...it can go the Ryan Hall route and get sorted out with a continual look of nonchalant boredom on your face? :D

This isn't a random violent attack out of nowhere, so yes, I personally expect better behavior.

My school has both a bar a few doors down AND an issue with homeless people. (Well, the bar closed because of the pandemic, but until then.) I have watched and heard of occasional drunk people/ or mentally ill homeless people coming into the school looking for trouble. We also have an ornery neighbor ticked off about parking in the street behind the school. He has come in and interrupted group classes with aggressive behavior.

Always, our instructors use de-escalation tactics. Calm polite behavior in the face of these issues to escort the people out of the school without violence.

The one guy interrupting the class could have been escorted out without things escalating.

It is a stark reminder that not all martial arts schools teach self defense. Some just teach fighting.

Maybe you shouldn't take my words so literally, I might have suckerpunched him i might not, but at least he would get a similar treatment for the lack of respect he was showing, what would you do? Stroke his hairs gently and ask him if he could stop.......pretty please......

If you have to sucker punch someone who is questioning your skills, you obviously don't have confidence in your own ability, and/ or have an inflated sense of your own status.

This video is really a Rorschach test for the viewers isn't it.

I'm not questioning anything haha......plenty of confidence, but I was taught to have respect for the teacher that is hosting you no matter how much experience you have......

Keep on stroking I would say :)

Assaulting people, even those who don't show you respect, isn't very clever, especially when it's filmed and widely accessable to the police.

Legally he could be in a lot of trouble.

Well it certainly shows the tactical advantage of striking first, and that someone has the sense to make sure that if they're going to fight, they're going to win.

Odo : You'd shoot a man in the back?
Garak : Well, it's the safest way, isn't it?

Garak was such a well written character, I must go back and watch the later DS9 seasons I missed.
