to anybody who chances to come see this i recently saw an episode of rurouni kenshin that depicted a ninja adversary using a ninja "spell" .the "spell" was actually not magic but an optical illusion,he had red and black horizantal stripes on his sleaves which made it appear that his arms could slightly stretch when he punched .this ovcourse made his attacks difficult to evade.and on another episode a ninja group used a "spell" witch held their adversary in place ,using tiny wires they would set traps towrap them around the opponent when he came into the position to do so.now my point of all this is this that im not sure but i doubt that these are very off from the truth .ninja "spells" were merely ingenious traps and illusions ,but if i am wrong i would like to hear from you your opinions.but even if i am i like thinking of illusions as spells.and would like your ideas for more "spells".i had a good one i used on a friend of mine when it was night and he was going to make an attack(i dont sparr anymore)i had hidden a white clothe in my sleave with a weight and string to retreive it.i threw it at him and he not only flinched but shot back and turned completely away.well anymore ideas and any insights into the past of ninja "spells" would be appreciated
I love Samurai X that is my favourite show, (besides InuYasha of course) I know a good idea for a ninja spell. Just place some Syran Wrap over the toilet seat so it can't be seen. I did this to my dad and he grounded me.
lmao!!!! hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! wew ok.that was funny.you are now kool.lol.oh and i was thinking and the trick with the stripes onthe arm would that work better with a spiral?because that would be more confusing i think and produce a similar effect.and um try to be a little serious please that was funny but im tryin to learn.
I don't think the spiral thing would work in real life, I can't really think of any fake shinobi spells, just look at some sites that have some david blaine magic tricks, they look almost real. I don't know any that would really be useful in combat though, atleast not more useful than hand to hand fighting.
Hmm... The stripes might change the perception of the length of someone's arm, but I doubt that such a thing would give anyone that much of an advantage. You just wouldn't fight the person on a straight line. But then again, all ninjutsu practitioners should already be moving off the line of attack anyway so there is no need to worry about such things. Sure, there will always be illusions and distractions referred to and the like, but nowadays I think the only truly useful one would probably be metsubishi. Personally, I feel there are tons of things more important to focus on in training before playing with more specific aspects like illusions and such. Just my two yen.
no no no im not focussing on it as a part of my training im just interested in lttle tricks like that for fun however im sure that a select few tricks would be useful now and again
there was also an episode where kenshin is fighting two dudes at once (one had nunchuckus and the other had a sword i think.) neways one guy i think used the kuji keri (i think thats how its spelled) and he trapped kenshin with invisible wire.
It's actually kuji kiri, and while information on such is easy to come by, no one can simply learn it in a short amount of time. I believe the lower level to the kuji kiri is the kuji-in, which takes a fairly long time to even grasp as well. That involves the various finger positions and such and different mental states/goals for each. The kuji kiri, being the higher level, is far more diverse in its supposed uses. I'll post later on this if anyone is interested, but for now, I am off to bed. Until later, all.
I deleted my post as well. But...eh...it was actually I who had never seen the entire series as of yet and had the ending ruined for me. But I'm far more forgiving than most others. Anyone else would be hunting you down as well as filling your e-mail inbox with links to monkey porn. Just a warning for future reference. LoL.
Haha, my bad...but the movie isn't going to be comming out in English anyway, atleast I don't think so, cartoon network doesn't own the rights to the last episodes. I'll think before I post next time.
A nice trick if a little messy is to fill a 35mm film roll container with flour/talcum powered/ pepper etc. hold it in the palm of your hand and flip the lid off with you thumb. Make a throwing motion at the target over or under arm will do while keeping hold of the container and let go of the lid at the last moment. The lid and powder will move towards the target hopefully distracting and covering the target in the powder in the process. This is best done out doors because of the possible mess caused. If you mess up your house don’t blame me when you get told off by parents / partner / spouse etc. Have fun.
Thats funny you mention that becuase, I carry a ziplock bag of talcum power where ever I go, so in case I get jumped (I do live in right outside NYC) I have reach into my pocket and throw power in the eyes if my attacker giving me time to escape. I like the film roll container better through, I might switch to that, if I can find one without having to pay for the film.
Ask at your local film developers as they mostly just throw them away when people bring in the films.
I went and them gave me 4 right away. They work so much better then the ziploc bag. Thanks for the idea.
Just don't get stopped by the cops with a canister full of white powder in your pocket! They might rough you up a bit before they realize what it is.
a really good example of Ninja illusion back in the day was to use myth and superstition of the people the Tengu or crow demon is a good example read the synopsis at these link you tell me who they sound like http://www.heart7.net/spirit/t.html http://www.fanzing.com/images/imgs34/contest/tengu.jpg
theres a ninja spell on the iga ninjutsu museum site. it reads : The Ninja often recited spells to communicate with the gods. One of the spells were recited "so-ro-e-na-ra-be-te i-tsu-wa-ri-sa-ra-ni ta-ne-chi-ra-sa-zu i-wa-i-o-sa-me-te ko-ko-ro-shi-zu-me-te", and-was-believed-to disperse sins and misfortunes. Even if-you-can't-understand-the-meanings-of the spells, it would-be-best-to-recite-them-to-the-sun-when-it-sets-and-return-the-natural-power- you've-gained-in-the-morning-and-express gratitude. I believe in all this Japanese Demons Site : ( good read )<url>http://www.shejapan.com/jtyeholder/jtye/living/ghost/ghost5.html</url> Iga Ninja Museum : <url>http://www.excite.co.jp/world/url/b...co.jp/net/ninja/english/menu.html&wb_lp=JAEN&</url> ( sorry about the long links )
