Does anyone know where i can obtain a Bujinkan manual called the 'Bujinkan dojo Shinden Kihon Kata'? It contains the bujinkan syllabus from 9th kyu to shodan.
I have created my own syllabus with what I expect my students to know. Most dojo's use the Tenchijin Ryaku no Maki. Which, in my opinion is rubbish as a instructional reference.
In terms of syllabus, there are several Buj dojo that use the genbukan syllabus as a reference. It's not much use as an instruction manual (which is the point) but as a syllabus reference, it is a solid book.
IIRC that doesn't look like the "ten chi jin" that most Buj people refer to and it looks like something that particular teacher created themselves. That's fine if it works for him but it is misleading especially with the go-dai stuff.
Maybe however it appears it is listed under a Bujinkan school http://www.todaidojo.com/ If it was To-shin-do then that would make sense.
I know, but the 'earth movements', etc are pure Hayes. A bit of Googling revealed a pretty long e-budo thread about that McDojo. In any case, this is a digression. The answer to OP is that no such document exists. I am a little worried that he hasn't started to put two and two together about his dojo but hopefully he'll realize that something is off.
Yes I'm aware and that is why I mentioned it. He is more likely to accept it if he comes to the conclusion on his own; however hopefully it doesn't take him a decade of training.
Let us hope it comes before physical harm from training in class with 'real weapons' or trying to apply 'teh reals' on 'the street'. It's that dark side of the Kool Aid that angers me– people are at risk.
Jibran K posted It actually looks like the guy has taken the book "Enlightened Self Protection" by Hayes and edited it by adding and taking a few things away. I have the TSD sylabus to 4th dan and its different to this. The sylabus in the ESP book came out in about 1996 and whats used now is different. However having said that, the one I have is from about 2007 so it could have changed again.
