I think this is pretty funky, http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/ you download a program which runs in the background while you're not using your computer (when the screen saver comes up), which analyses samples of data for extra terrestial intelligence. The site gives way more detail and a better explanation than what I can, but I'm running them on both my computers 24/7 in the background basically since it doesn't take up too much RAM. Anyone else using it, or going to?
Hey Bon, funny you mention this, because I installed it under a week ago. 11 data units completed in 44 hours.
Your PC suddenly shuts down for no reason and three guys in black suits & sunglasses knock on your door. (Look out for the guys in the white NBC suits and the big black van hanging around in the background too - the sound of a helipcopter overhead is also a telltale sign).
LMAO!!! yoda man ur such a joker my pc normally has to restart sumtimes so maybe i have a ghost or 2 in there
Hah, I knew people here would already have it. I suspected YODA would. I'm running it on a celeron 500, 128MB RAM and a pIII 866, 128MB RAM. Only 2 units completed by my pIII so far, my 500 is still on the first one. Jack, sounds like you have a beast of a machine!
I was running it a few years ago, but so slow a machine it wasn't worth it. Maybe I'll run it on this one and the new one I have coming in next week...
Yep, I do. I used to have a Celeron 500 with 128MB RAM... Now I have a P4 2.4Ghz beast with 1 GB of DDDR RAM (Yes, 3 Ds!) Jack
