Congratulations! Sounds like a well deserved promotion. I also started TKD at 37 and never in my wildest dreams thought that I would be this far along...let alone have a Black Belt in my sights in the not too distant future. Again, good job!
Congratulations! As someone else who's starting a new style at 36, I'm definitely happy to see that I'm not alone! My wife asked me if I wanted to be a black belt and I had to laugh. I told her that my goal is blue belt, but if I ever get purple, I'll be extremely proud. Again, Congrats!

Well since this thread has come back I too shal respond!! And say congratulations!! 2nd Dan, it must be wonderful seeing yourself move along the way of Tae Kwon Do, one day you will achieve what every martial artists seeks, this promotion also proves we have one more hard-working Tae Kwon Do tenet trained person in this world!
