    Howdie all

I am having dificulties finding shorts that dont restrict my kicking.

The all seem to tighten as I kick and hinder my proper form.

    Any ideas?

    Thai shorts?

MMA shorts with a split down the side?

It is thai shorts which I use currently, they have loads of room but the restrict my kicks. Chunky leg syndrome! May have to split them like 80's running shorts! Classy!!

How about wearing lycra short beneath the thai shorts. The lycra will absorb any sweat and the thai shorts will glide nicely over the lycra, rather than stick to your legs.

It's been a while since I did Muay Thai, but I always used to wear lycra beneath my thai shorts. Get ones the same colour as the shorts and it all blends in nicely.

I've seen Master Sken do this, so if it is good enough for him.

Go GSP style and just wear compression shorts. J/K:hat:

Excellent, I think I shall invest in a pair of compression shorts. Cheers all.

I was only kidding. I am a skinny little twirp and am still to vain to wear those. I will ware them underneath my fight shorts to hold everything in, but I have never just worn them alone.

I'm all for functionality, bit too close to tackle out for my liking!

Lycra compression shorts under sambo/vale tudo shorts work great.

Alternatively, get shorter thai shorts with a split in the side. The usual problem isn't that the shorts are too small anywhere, but rather the crotch is too low. Gotta get a good fit to have nonflexible shorts that let you kick freely but also don't squash your junk when you do.

    Commando style?

That's a good thought Ratty, the crotch is quite low.

Commando stylie is not good, can't have the wee punchbag hangin around.
That needs to be tucked away and safe!
