I've taken more than a few MA's and have just recently started kickboxing. I went to Ringside.com and will probably be buying my gloves from them. I have big hands but only wiegh 170lbs. I noticed glove size (M, L) seems to go by body wieght. Why is this? Why doesn't it go by hand size? Also I'm getting a pair with the velcro closures. Also should I train with 16oz and fight with lighter gloves? Any input on how to pick a set of gloves (offline) is helpful. Thanks.
