Protective Kit

    Not used it. Just rolled with regular box and supporter. Skad cheaper by the way. I don't get what all the padding is for on those shorts. Since when did you need to pad your IT band or thigh for BJJ?! Weird.

    Someone enlighten please.

    Hi, I too used to grapple solely with a box. However, I once landed heavily on my hip (freestyle wrestling, but it could equally have been BJJ). The resultant injury needed hospital treatment and put me out of action for weeks.

    Since then, I've tried using Korpertech Body Armour Skin, which is really comfortable but only slightly protective. McDavid HexPad clothing is more protective, albeit with a compression fit if you like that sort of thing:

    Some of the muay Thai guys in my club have started wearing McDavid shirts too, since a couple of them took roundhouses that bust ribs in 'light' sparring.
