Pre Grading

    according to the resent trend of announcing peoples Gradings. i though i'd have my turn. I'll be attempting my Shodan pre-grading on the 9th of April in Brisbane Australia. OSU too all.

    Is a "pre-grading" a new thing?

    With my group, it's a case of turning up and doing the exam. You either pass or you fail.

    That said, I usually hold "mock" grading exams (within the four walls of our dojo) - for any of our students attempting dan grades. The real thing is an external examination.

    Is this what you mean by pre-grading or is this also carried out by an external board?

    Thats exactly what it is Gary. Just with a different name.
