Plz help! Martial Arts in Glasgow area

    For your information.
    Although the makotokai dojo is in the Royal Marine Commando Barracks it is open to the public.Regarding other pieces of nonsense that have been circulating. You DO NOT have to be a black belt before we will accept you.Training is NOT by invitation only.
    Everyone is welcome to visit and/or train.

    Ours is 8pm, Shoto budo are very good and i have X trained with them. Good people.

    I could be wrong, but I don't think the BJJ is on at the Kelvin Hall anymore.
    I think the Griphouse is pretty much your only option for BJJ in Glasgow now.

    That's a shame. Will try Shoto Budo as 8pm on a Sunday a little awkward for me unbfortunately :eek: It's the kaizen one in bishopbriggs I was thinking of.Nop-one happens to have a contact name/number for it by chance do they?Was on theior site but no way of contatcing them that I could see...

    No but just turn up and it will be fine that's where I used to go. Two of my friends are Blue Belts there, Thay do have Kata practice (along with matwork, padwork, randori etc.)

    I trained at shotobudo in dumbarton for a bit and would recomend it to anyone. well rounded training for plus a lot of experienced heads.

    Personally I would recomend you try the dumbarton, bearsden and greenock clubs

    Anyone who chooses to train at the shotobudo clubs. Please give my regards to the senior instructors there.I enjoyed training with Billy Haggerty.(all those years back) :) William Coyle

    Still looking :(

    I tried Kaizen but the style is very similar and unfortunately they didn't have mats.

    Anyone else got any ideas, please, please, please?

    Is ju-jitsu hard to get into? Coming from a diff martial art I mean...

    There's a Hung Fut school in Glasgow. They came down to Newcastle for a Kung Fu/Lion Dance tournament and they were quite frankly amazing.

    Apparently they have have some awesome fighters amongst their numbers.
