Had our annual black belt camp/grading over the weekend, 5 trainings friday arvo to sunday arvo, managed to pass my nidan grading! I do realise this is just a step, but I like to know my instructors think I'm making progress, so that I know I really am getting better, 4 years after my last grading. Got a bit of video of it and will put something together when I can, but the highlights were definitely in the fighting, at the end of the grading. My last fight, over 3mins long, saw me take a spinning ushero-geri (back kick) straight in the solar plexus from the 6th dan head instructor for New Zealand, who just said he wanted to push me a bit :hammer:, was sucking air for quite a while. Not so bad as the girl from my dojo who also did her nidan, somehow her kneecap slid out of place, she gritted her teeth, put it back in (she's a doctor) and kept fighting. Just thought I'd share, good weekend for me, even if I did skip studying for a couple uni tests...
Finally got my a into g, here's my grading video. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtO0r6LEAIQ"]YouTube- Nidan Grading Vid[/ame]
