Can anybody recommend any natural practises or remedies to alleviate the symptoms of Parkinson's? Or alternatively any forum which would be a good place to ask?

I'd recommend investigating vitamin E, lithium orotate, and bee venom therapies. It's important the remember that Parkinson's is a degenerative disease, therefore you should manage expectations that slowing the neural degeneration is likely to be the best case scenario. Good luck.

Edit: Also check out Coenzyme Q10.

Parkinson's is an evil disease. Destroys the body while leaving the mind. I watched two great uncles succumb to it and it tore me up inside. Do a lot of googling and reading. There have been some great strides in treatments in the last 8-10 years. Good luck...

They've been doing some amazing stuff with neural implants recently. I have no idea what the availability of those kinds of treatments are, but they've had some stunning results.

Being a boxing coach has sure helped Freddie Roach. Maybe any constant physical exercise will do the same.

I know this is a slightly old thread, but you could consider Shaolin Qigong as a method of treatment.

How might that help? Neuromuscular control or something like that?

I hate to be the miserly bugger, but in all good conscience I'd have to advise speaking to your doctor before considering natural remedies recommended on an internet forum.

As an aside, I fully agree that it's an unpleasant condition, one of my grandfathers certainly had it, and it's looking like the other might too. Nice to know what's ahead of you...

As Odds said, speak to a doctor, speak to a specialist if you can, get all the information you can get and make sure you get proper treatment.

Yes, absolutely speak to a medical professional first. I consider this a given for such topics. Personally, I prefer holistic MDs to conventional ones, but that's because in the US the traditional MDs have a very narrow perspective on treatment options (prescriptions and surgeries). I'm told MDs in foreign First World nations are much better at suggesting a broader spectrum of treatments.

Also, as has been stated, check out the neural implants. I forgot to mention those, but they are making groundbreaking headway with some neurological diseases. Often they are considered experimental and conventional therapies need to be exhausted before someone would be considered eligible at participating research hospitals. Absolutely worth calling and finding out about though.

I just discovered a stem cell treatment center in Cancun, Mexico offering treatment for Parkinson's Disease. I thought you might benefit from this information, should you still be an active member of these forums. I hope this information reaches you and if you explore it you have positive results.
