Did some of the "parries and enters" in TKD and Jujitsu similar in the video, and I absolutely love doing those Thoughts about the video anyone? Hate it, Love it?
I've seen this guy before and like this clip. Pretty standard fair, but nicely executed, fluid and pretty economical. Not sure about grabbing and pulling the opponents rear cross, but that could be substituted for a parry if you can't pull it off. A thumbs up from me.
This would be very much how I do things in my own class, especially the use of elbows for limb destruction. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjqKhVHLRj4"]NUDDA - Filipino Boxing - YouTube[/ame] I also like the jab catch driil. One of the first drills I ever did and I still use it to this day.
Jab catch I use as a base for reality drilling on responses as it is dynamic. I still teach cross-roll and hook-cover 3 count drills too
Yep, a great set as you can have e beginner do it on the first day, or two experienced guys go right at it.

I'm only watching the clips on a netbook, so a small screen, but I think the guy in the first few clips is Rick Young. Rick is Chadderz instructor.
I have a class tomorrow and this is exactly what the students have asked to learn. Throw in a bit of dumog and hubud and happy days.
I taught Dumog from the tie up last night...happy days! And yes the video with Guro Dan had Rick Young in it AND the unbelivable (and slimmer) Erik Paulson
The clip wasnt bad at all. Could do with tightening it up a bit as I thought some of the movements where a tad big and some switching from side to side was not nessisary and there was a few times he missed good opportunities for limb destructions with the elbow etc. But apart from that not bad at all. Best regards Pat
You do realise that Hannibal lives a 14 hour drive from Seventh? For FMA empty hands in Winnipeg check out the Sikaran Arnis guys.
Yeah that looks like Rick...I recognise him from that particular era of Combat etc that I would have been reading around the time these vids were out. I remember spending hours making entirely theoretical shopping lists of prohibitively expensive MA VHS-tapes I could never have afforded in a million years. Gosh, doesn't half take me back to the good old days! /wipetear
I have a total of about 6 months very basic FMA training. I enjoyed every second, even if the instruction itself was patchy. Some of the footwork drills we do in TCC remind me of the stuff I've seen FMA stylists do, as it happens. Probably totally wrong on that count, though. It is a dream of mine to one day get private lessons to actually pick up some of the art(s). You hear that, wife? Start saving now!
