I often get the munchies after teaching a class and usually end up chomping on a chocolate bar (terrible I know). Anyway, I'm looking for something low in fat and carbs but high in protein. I picked up a Myoplex Low Carbs bar but it tasted like crap. So, any recommendations? Nathan
Dunno - never actually tasted crap so I have nothing to compare it too As far as bars go I've never had one I would eat "for pleasure". Why not try Myoplex as a drink instead - the choccie premix ones are quite nice!
If your in Canada, I suggest Vector bars. They taster great, and give you alot of energy, and protein.
Hi Labatt Levo's here in the UK. Can you give us a nutritional breakdown on Vector Bars? Who make's them?
I set myself up for that I suppose I was looking for something to eat really. Surely there's a good tasting bar out there Nathan
Sure - Mars, Twix, Snickers Some of the breakfast type bars are quite low fat, not great for protein but they taste pretty good. Cheerios bars & Golden Graham's bars are my faves!
The makers of Ensure put out a line of products called Glucerna. These products are for people with Diabetes. Don't let the fact that they are for Diabetics turn you off on the idea of trying them. The meal replacement bars offer excellent balanced nutrition and taste good too. Here is a link for their product line so you can check out the nutritional information. http://www.glucerna-precision.com/servlet/nutrio?page=194&cat=0
http://www.willner.com/BarsMain.htm not complete and doesn't say anything about good taste but this might give you some leads.
Do NOT eat the Met-RX bars!!! DISGUSTING! Power bars are good though(my favorite is chocolate). Do they have Power Bars in the UK?
found this link last night http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/south20.htm Has a comparison of three or four different brands with analysis of nutritional contents and the reviewers input on the taste of each brands varieties.
