The natives were also survivalists ,silent walkers ,used ambush and espionage methods just like ninjas.Their weapons were also similar ,like katana vs shield and long knife, shuriken vs throwing knife, kusarigama vs whip and tomahawk, both used serious booby traps and blowgun, ninja had explosives and natives had dynamite .So I think they could be compared upto some extent.

    Not really

Years, oceans and function separate them too much

I would have loved to watch them pitted against each other in deadliest warrior on history channel.

Wait, what? Dynamite was invented by Swedish scientist Alfred Nobel (yeah, that guy) in 1867.

IIRC in that GI Joe cartoon from the 80s, they would always face off storm shadow, the evil white ninja, with the native Amarican Joe character. And they always fought to a standstill.

I mean, with a topic like this I see no reason not to use a bad 1980s cartoon as reference material.

@mitlov ..i know dynamite was invented by swedish ....gunpowder was invented by chinese but still ninjas used it. I am trying to say that during 18-19 century dynamite and guns were used by native americans in a similar fashion just like ninjas used smoke grenades and other explosive devices.

Pointless comparison because every culture was using it globally

They just arent comparable - give it up

Kalari, why do you want to try so hard to put together entirely different cultures? Why do you keep trying to make others some type of Ninjitsu?

Why can't you just respect various Native American and other cultures and MA's for what they are? They don't have to be like Ninjitsu to be viable you know.

Did the 20 post rule vanish?

This type of thing is making a comeback.
