Peace to all, Just came back from a Mande Muda website www.pecahan.com and saw the video clips of some moves. See it here; http://www.pecahan.com/frame.html What do you guys think? I like the last buah/application where Guru Robert went pass the attacker (in some malaysian silat styles, they call this 'Selayang Pandang') and then dropped on his back and took his opponent down. peace
Aloha ! For more information about Mande Muda please visit the Suwanda Academy website or the Mande Muda website. Where do you train in KL ? I visit there twice a year for work and would like to meet you to see the style you train in. I have been a student of Mande Muda since 1988 under the late Pendekar Suwanda. I
No problem Peace to all, Apa khabar to you too! Our 'gelanggang' is in Taman Desa Keramat, KL. Guests are welcome to watch the training session. We train every Friday night & Saturday night from 9.30 pm to 11.30 pm. When i was in Baltimore, i bought Silat Mande Muda tapes featuring the late Pendekar Herman Suwanda. The death of Bapak, his wife and the students was a great lost to the entire silat world. One thing that Silat Mande Muda and Silat Tekpi have in common; Ibu Rita Suwanda as the Head of Suwanda International at present, whereas the late 'Srikandi Kedah' (Kedah's Warrior Woman) Siti Aminah was the first generation inheritor of Silat Tekpi from his father, the late Panglima Taib. peace
Aloha ! I hope to contact you as I will be in KL in october for a work trip and would like to learn about your style. I assume you use the trisula or tekpi which coincidentally is in the Mande Muda logo as well. For your information , you can email me privately here if you wish to obtain information about other tapes made by Pak Herman's brother Bambang if you are interested. Mahalo
Yes we do Peace to all, I hope we can meet this october. But i have to ask my instructors first on sharing thoughts on silat techniques, especially those of Silat Tekpi. I am sending you a private message now. peace
Explanation on the techniques used Peace to all, Dear Mande Muda practioners, Can anyone (especially bernie ) share with the rest of us here the techniques used in the clips by Guru Robert? There are 5 techniques; and IMHO, Tech 1) start with sabetan (???) or cimande (?) then Pusing/putar kepala, then kuncian. Tech 2) Cikalong (?) then Harimau (?) Tech 3) Cimande (?) then comes in with Shahbandar (?) then harimau (?) Tech 4) Cimande (?) then Sera (putar kepala) (?) Tech 5) Cikalong (?) then Harimau (?) anyone?? peace
Aloha ! My interpretation are as follows: Tech 1 looks like a syahbandar entry on the wrist lock part but I could not see his footwork on the initial movement , after the knee there is a putar kepala and ends with a kuncian on the hand with a harimau leg lock for the choke Tech 2 looks like MM harimau to me from start to beginning Tech 3 looks like cimande juru tangan no 7 entry as the initial footwork is Cimande followed possibly by SyahbaNDAR with a harimau ending Tech 4 footwork did not look like Cimande but the hands portion looked Cimande then to a putar kepala and finish MM style but not sure of ending technique in terms of aliran/ulin Tech 5 looks like MM Harimau all the way as we have a drill that circles the person and then a take down with leg locks and kicks
videos on pecahan.com Heck, I was just killin' folks...Didn't give too much thought to the exact origins of each technique. Bernie pretty much nailed it though. Technique 3 started off with Cimande 1 on the right hand and then went on to Cimande 7 for the left punch. 4 also started off with Cimande one, before going to Cimande 3. The footwork was kinda' loosely Cimande, but I adjusted the angle and it came out more like a little skip-step (a bit like in Jurus Tangan 6). Rob
Apa khabar Guru Rob? Peace to all, Dear Guru Rob, It's great to have you here to talk about Silat Mande Muda. Salaam Persilatan from Silat Kuntau Tekpi Malaysia (Silat Tekpi) Peace
Help with finding mande muda videos.... I am wanting to highjack this thread cause I have searched the net over to no avail. I am looking for instructional DVDS of mande muda. The guychase ones were all I could find and they are no-longer being sold from what I can tell. I need to be able to practice on my own at home, but being I'm such a novice(1month) I haven't the skill to perform the techniques on my own without any guidance. I was wondering if anyone associated with mande muda could help with my search for video instruction. Thanks, manofleisure
