new to kick boxing

    hey guys i'm pretty new to map i started tkd not to long agoo but i decided i need something more. i come from a wrestling back round. i discovered a kick boxing gym not to far from my house. i'd really like to come a competitive kick boxer i'm 18 years old is it to late?? also is there mcdojo's in kick boxing like martial arts?

    It's got a free week so it won't harm giving it a go.

    There are a few red flags. I'd expect a competitive kickboxing gym to have a fighters page and this one doesn't. The picture section isn't great either, nobody catches my eye as any good although pics can be misleading.

    The gyms look nice so that's a plus but I wouldn't sign anything, take a look and ee if there are any fighters that look good. If not find another gym.

    Ack...a personal hate of mine is when people call it "Muay Thai kickboxing" (as on that site). Often points out they don't know what they are on about.
    It's Muay Thai.
    Or Thai boxing.
    Or at a push Thai kickboxing.
    Or even Thai style kickboxing makes sense.
    "Muay Thai kickboxing" just means Boxing Thai kickboxing which is stupid.

    Coach Brooks is also a successful competitor from 35 marital competitions from karate, jujitsu and kickboxing.

    I'm loving that typing error too. :)

    if your interested in kickboxing a good style to pursue is shorin ryu or shotokan american combat karate.
