    Hey folks,

i was just wondering if anybody had any experience with neuro sets?

I brought a book by a guy called Jon Bruney and the basic principle is you do a grind movenent, followed by a plyometric movement then a isometric movement for example push ups to plyo pushups to kettlebell crush. Then you repeat for about 5 sets.

Has anyone done this type of training and if so did you find it useful and did you see any gains in strength, or is it just another fad workout?

Any hints and tips are appreciated.

    Cheers

I think you can find a similar idea by searching for "Post Activation Potentiation" but basically You move something heavy for a few reps then either move something a bit lighter for more reps than you'd usually manage (as the nervous system is primed for the heavy weight and the lighter weight "feels" even lighter) or a explosive or plyometric movement with greater intensity. PAP has been shown quite conclusively to increase performance in the subsequent sets, but as to its validity as a training method, I haven't seen.
