So it has been five and a half years since I last fought in the cage and I've decided that it is time to step in once more... I had a great 2015, winning three separate no gi BJJ tournaments and I really wanted to come back now in 2016 to step my game up and fight in MMA again. I've been training hard, doing a lot of Kickboxing in addition to my BJJ (gi and no gi) training. I'm fighting a tough lad out of Missouri who has fought in MMA and Kickboxing. He's got a couple KO's to his resume, so I am determined to dominate in whichever way I can. I fight on February 26th in the beautiful city of Chicago, IL. Very excited for this opportunity.
Just an update! Fight is two weeks away. Dealt with some minor health issues, but fought through them. On track to weight and feeling good. I definitely think I win this fight by a submission or a choke. It's gonna be a Jiu Jitsu clinic.
Fight week, everyone! Big news as well. My original opponent pulled out today. He took the coward's way out and I am disgusted. The silver lining is that they did find me a replacement fighter. I just have to tweak my game plan. Either way, working hard still!
Fight night everyone! Excited but nervous as well. Staying positive and thoughtful. MY opponent is at a heavier weight and a total change up from who I was supposed to fight. The guy I am fighting is a former state wrestling champ and fought Pankration over in Europe. I'm gonna try to impose my will in this. Wish me luck everyone!
Your plan is to out grapple a grappler or has your game plan changed? Either way, good luck and much respect for fighting in the cage!
