Right im coming from a Japanese jui jitsu background been doing it for a while now ,but I fancy something abit more full contact ,I have been doing a lot of reading about various styles and I have settled on trying muay thai , So I was wondering what peoples opinions on different clubs in the area are , Ive searched and seen that theres quite a few different clubs in area ,I don't want anything to serious more of a hobby to start with I don't intend to compete ( at first ) just after a nice friendly club where I don't have to sign up for a 12 month contract So whats about and what are you experiences and cheers for any info guys
As far as I can tell, Manchester is the Mecca of Thai in England. Have you tried Google? Best to see first what is available to you and fits well with any schedules you may have.
Where are you in Manchester, there are loads of reputable thai clubs in great manchester, you might as well narrow it down to a particular area
im in Wythenshawe so believe its south Manchester ,I have googled and as you said there is loads just trying to get peoples opinions on different clubs maybe if there is any to avoid etc
phoenixmuaythai.co.uk/ allpowersgym.co.uk/muay-thai/ blackeyemuaythai.co.uk/ these are the main ones ive been thinking of i am open to ideas of others though i did look at master a and masterken but these look more along the lines of doing it to compete .
yes mate your right i think hes the main instructor there , I think ill have to pop down to a few they all seem to generate really good fighters and have good credentials ,just where i have done all my jui jitstu have been small dojos and have been all really laid back and helpfull ,I did pop down to a local mma place but it seemed to be full of young lads and none of them had any respect for each other and the instructors were all clowns so that kind of put me off mma so i thought id try abit of muay thai being an older sport ,Hence the post on here to see if could get any members of clubs up that could recommend somewhere
