Hey all, I’m very seriously considering taking an extended trip to Thailand so as to learn some Thai boxing. My initial thought was to go over to Fairtex because they have such a high reputation and it would be an amazing experience to fight in Thailand and I know they are good at what they do at that gym, but to be honest ring competition is not really my focus and I would prefer to learn one of the older Thai boxing systems. Does anybody know of any Muay Boran camps in Thailand? I’ve heard there is a good one up north in Chiang Mai (sp?). Also, there is a guy who goes by the name of Lek who is a well known teacher of Muay Chaiya, but I cannot for the life of me find any information on him. Apparently he is also a highly regarded maker of thai dolls. Ring any bells to anyone? Any help, information, and advice would be really appreciated!
