IIRC - Neither Yoshinori Kono, or Akira Hino are even Koryu teachers nevermind 'Masters' Kuruda Tetsuzan is however definatly the real deal.
Sort of, Kono is a friend of Tetsuzan and has made a study of old Samurai methods, Akiro Hino works with dancers etc and his known for his knowledge of movement and the human body............the term master is confusing.........whatever you call them they are moving the study forward
Calling them masters in the koryu bujutsu forum, isnt contextually correct. They might be great (ive heard otherwise) but please dont misrepresent them.
Maybe, I'm just after more knowledge.to quote Basho ( I believe) I do not wish to walk in the steps of wise men, I seek what they saught
You seek a settlement? http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/saught Now you see how important it is that we both use clear language, so as to aide communication.
Which doesn't make him even a practitioner of Koryu. What he does is looks at what he thinks is evidence, and tries to put together what he thinks the reality was... sometimes (often) using rather poorly chosen sources and evidence, leading him to some very odd conclusions. Not Koryu. Yes, Hino is known for his work with dancers, as well as with Aikido, neither of which are Koryu, so again, not even a practitioner. There are other issues, but I'm not going into those here. Not Koryu. They aren't even practitioners of Koryu, how on earth could they be "moving the study forward"??? And the term "master" is one you chose and used... in starting a thread in a Koryu forum.... so surely you'd know what context you were talking about, yeah? Okay, more knowledge. Read up on Koryu first. Then you might realize that what you're talking about here really isn't much of a factor in Koryu... it's not the person that's the important thing.
There can only be one Master! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAZp_wbv0h4"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAZp_wbv0h4[/ame]
This is a serious forum, I expect a bit more decorum from those who post here..... Oh I see someone let Scott in, ok carry on.
Yes, but which one is it? [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKsIrGUV4ew"]Doctor Who: The Master (Every Incarnation Of The Master 1963 - 2010) - YouTube[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4-TKtRUYhQ"]Who's Da Master?!? - YouTube[/ame]
I'm with you there. Roger Delgado was the epitome of masterliness. Some of the newer ones just made me wonder what they were thinking!
