MMA school; what do you think?

I've been doing martial arts since 1959 when I was 8 years old. TKD for the last 20 plus years interspersed with some judo and Arnis. I feel it's time for a change.

There are a couple of MMA schools nearby. One is a chain school which I'm not interested in

    This one seems ok.

I've checked it out and I like the head instructor (no chest puffery) plus his nose had obviously been busted :) I respect that having had mine broken at least 6 times. (Blocking with your face will do that)

I'd appreciate it if one of you could check out this web site and give me you thoughts. Tuition is $125 per month.

The other issue is age. I'm 60 years old so I was thinking about Akido but the local guy is way too formal for my taste. I've had enough formality to last a life time. I'm 180 and 6 foot one running about 14% body fat so age has not yet withered me :)

I'm interested in the boxing, kick boxing and Muai tai, not so much the bjj and wrestling.

Now your advice might be to take the classes but don't spar but I know myself. I won't be able to resist.

Is there an echo in here? I've heard all this before on another thread.

Well he's legit and has fought at a very very high level. All his losses are against elite fighters. Looking at the schedule it doesn't seem like theres alot of striking only classes for the money, thats about the only bad thing for you I could see about the place.

Thanks, Snoop. That really helps. The schedule has 5 classes a week of striking so I'm happy with that. Who knows i may take a shot at the bjj.

I intend to keep up my TKD though. I like the instructor. OK I AM the instructor:)
