That kind of connectedness is altogether scary, I don't even want to think about what it feels like when he hits you.

    Hiya Chris,

Thanks for the clips :D as always I find them easy peasy.............to watch !!!!

Imo, there is a direct corrolation between something looking effortless to do, and the consumate skill of the practitioner.

Nevertheless, this afternoon will see me stoically making an ar*e of myself in my attempts to have a go - with the aid of a conveniently placed mirror.

    Tidy.

I gave it a shot, could not get off the ground, I did make myself look silly though. Am I right in thinking you have to jump with the kwa, so to speak?

bingo ... i dont practice this but its all about 'Dang Jin'

wish i was a fly on the wall watching people try this one ... never ceases to make everyone that tries it look silly (including me!!!!) appart from master He who ... like you say .... makes it look really simple!!! ha ha ha

notice the rest of the class stayed out of the clip on that last one! ;)
    thanks ppl

OKaaayy, I can do this about as well as a penguin :bang: but I will persist in practicing as it intrigues me.

I just love how fast and far my MA horizons constantly expand. Due, in part, to people like you posting stuff like this.

    Deep joy :D

So what I want to see is a video of him actually jumping. I've heard of the walking on basket rims and so forth, but does it actually make you able to jump really high, or just make you feel very light on your feet, so to speak?

lightness skill isnt just about jumping high etc AFAIK. It is also about extremely nimble footwark etc. I do know master He can jump very high ... maybe he will provide a video... will let you know.

    Cheers

He is impacting slightly with his foot. It is no big deal but I don't have a video camera so don't ask me to prove it. I don't really see what the point of that particular exersise is though I did think some of the other stuff was pretty good but wouldn't consider it extraordinary based on what I have seen.

who said it was extraordinary??? Just master He Kindly sharing some training methods.

    Cheers
