I received a strange email via third party (no doubt a circular) from a certain Martin Faulks. The following link was attached :- http://www.martinfaulks.com/index.htm It is clear he is a bujinkan member and another one of your dungeons and dragons martial artists. After having returned from seeing Tanemura Soke in Southampton teaching true Togakure Ryu Ninpo, this just made me feel sick. The following picture just sums him up perfectly :- Who knows him and why is he putting this rubbish out via circular? Jamie
His choice of "historian" could not have been more appropriate. Oh, yes, I almost forgot: :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang: - Mark Spada
I have not heard of him. If he was Kan, I doubt he is now. His pics are all of him being a kyu. They don't look too old, Nagouchi was pretty grey there....mind you has been a while. It still looks recent. Honestly either just becuase he trained at the Honbu doesn't mean your Kan either he could have gone there assuming that, just for the pics. And the training of course. The lad looks all of 24. Any video of his actual movement? His "dialogue" with Hayes seems pretty cookie cutter inspire speach from a website. Who knows.
ttp://www.knightstemplarquest.com/Martin_Faulks.html# And Bujingodai he was certainly ungraded when I met him about 4 years ago however that doesnt mean anything with the Bujinkan as he's probbably about a fifth dan now. In his defence however i will say that Martin came across as an intelligent and charming person who was very knowledgable about the publishing industry. He does however see himself as the next Stephen K Hayes.
Okay so can someone tell me why he has a sai in his belt, only one of the prongs has been broken off? Obviously he's trying for a jutte but that's plainly a sai in his belt because of the distance between the prong and the main shaft. Hurr hurr shaft.
I know the pic with Hatsumi sensei doing kanji was in jan-feb of 2009 . That is my elbow in the top right hand corner , I filmed Hatsumi sensei while he was doing a few paintings , gregh
From the book store: "Could there be more to the Ninja than throwing stars and black suits?" Pfff... Doubt it.
I, too, have just recieved this email in my mail box. I, too, felt sick when I read his blog etc after the recent (Genbukan) Togakure Ryu Taikai. Oh dear there's also an appearence by Anthony Cummings. I wonder if these two guys met in the same 'World Of Ninja Craft' forum? Even his Tai Chi is wrong. Pathetic.
Saw this guy's book today when I was out. Only had a quick flick through it but it looked bloody awful, kept seeing mention of water techniques and wind this and that plus kuji. Oh and there was a diagram of a modern lock I saw as I skimmed through, I can only assume it's for ninjery type lock picking..... It was less Bujinkan, Ninjutsu etc and more Naruto. Didn't read it properly so take my comments for what they are, I put it back next to Ha Ha Lung's dodgy books.
