    MAP MEET JUNE 2014

I'm pleased to announce that you can now mark the date in your diaries, plan your training regimes, and prepare for an amazing day of enjoyable training.

    When is it?

    Saturday 14 June 2014

    Rough timings:
    1015-1100 Admin/Safety/Personal warm ups
    1100-1230 Session 1
    1240-1340 Session 2
    1420-1550 Session 3
    1600-1730 Session 4.

    Who's teaching?

As usual the instructor lineup is formed predominantly from regular posting instructors on MAP. Following the success of the event last year and his popularity as an instructor, local Paralympian Judo Champion Ian Rose has agreed to teach as well.

    Brixtonboidunwell
    Ian Rose and Bill Nobbs
    JWT
    Late for Dinner
    Mitch
    Robertmap
    Sifu Ben
    Simon
    Smurf

    Why should I go?

    To make new friends.
To meet the fantastic people you've been chatting to online.
To have fun training with some exceptional instructors.
    To learn new skills.
To raise money for Sport Relief 2014.

    How do I pay?

This year all payment is in advance and online to help the organisers plan in advance for the event. To find out more about the instructing team and to reserve your place, visit www.mapmeet.co.uk

    Where is it?

    High Wycombe Judo Centre
    http://www.wycombejudocentre.co.uk/
A purpose built martial arts centre with matted training areas, changing rooms and showers, on site parking, and a social bar area overlooking the main Dojo.

    Getting There

    Road
The location is just off one of two M40 junctions for the town and close to the M4 and M25 routes.
    http://www.wycombejudocentre.co.uk/page9.html

    Buses or taxis
You can get a taxi or blag a lift from the central bus station. The Booker/Lane End one (032A) is most likely to be the best choice.
    http://www.transportforbucks.net/Bus...-stations.aspx
You either want the Turnpike Corner West stop or the Lansdell Avenue Stop. The Judo Centre is in Barry Close.

    Rail
The station (with trains roughly every 20 mins) is on the Birmingham to Marylebone line, so you can get intercity to one of those locations (or Banbury) and then switch.

Alternatively you can get the tube to Amersham and get a bus or taxi.

Anyone going from Nottingham? Wouldn't mind attending and could perhaps arrange travel with some other Mapper's if local.

Will book this off work as missed the last one due to a competition that clashed.

This would be quite a trek for us Yanks. How are the hotels over there?

You can stay in Mitch's love-dungeon. There are plenty of "beds" for you to use. May need a wipe down first mind.

Basic but functional. Pretty cheap too depending where you book and with which company you go with.

Provisionally I'm down, I already have permission from the wife (unlike last time!) :D. I just need to chat to the people I will need a lift from (I'm coming from the South West).

I was pretty peeved I missed the last one, I am not going to miss this one.

There are quite a few Bed and Breakfast places in High Wycombe plus the commercial chains Holiday Inn and Premier Inn both have hotels there.
