Hey, Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Gym's located in Manchester center, UK. There are a few dotted around but I don't want to be taught something that isn't Thai boxing but claims to be. Any opinions or reviews etc welcome. Thanks in advance
Master a is ok but certainly not a leader of today's uk Muay Thai. Not even sure he has any guys in the uk rankings at all? Gfc Muay Thai is probably the best in Manchester , head coach Darren Phillips is a well respected ref and judge on world class fights, he knows how it's done.
http://allpowersgym.co.uk/ Their Muay Thai classes are mostly based in Stockport taught by Panicos Yusuf when he's not fighting.
It is, great gym that hold regular interclubs that are about as fair as you're likely to find. Wherever he trains he'll probably end up there fighting eventually
Just thought id drop by and say thanks for the suggestions! Currently considering Master A's or a place called Evolve Manchester
Try them both and see which fits better? Unless you plan on making a name for yourself in the sport then just find a club that feels right for you
Evolve has recently moved, there fb profile has the new address. SBG mainline also has thai classes, but is more geared towards MMA so may not be what your looking for.
Depending on if you want to travel for decent training, there's a place called Supergym in Knutsford who offer great training. Currently have 5 ranked fighters in only a few years or something like that.....it's only about 20 mins from Manchester to
Fighting Fit has Muay Thai classes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. http://www.fightingfitmartialarts.co.uk/training-and-facilities/martial-arts/muay-thai/ The MT classes have a former British and current Euro champion. My wife trains there for BJJ and judo, so I've seen the classes first-hand. They're legit. Speaking of BJJ and judo, there's a couple of world and European medalist instructors teaching BJJ and the head judo coach is a 2x Olympian. Worth checking out if you're close by, it's a 5-minute walk from the Arndale.
