Checked my diary and I am clear on those dates so at the moment at least Michelle and I will be there. Looking forward to pressing the flesh with Greg if you know what I mean.
Dale Most of us wouldn't want a skirt anyway If you do wear it you'll find out what its like in the north of England when its wet and cold
I don't mind cold and wet, it's in my genes. Here I am on a cold wet winter day in Japan -- though that's not technically a kilt but its ancestor, the feileadh mor or belted plaid -- a 5-foot-wide, 5-yard long strip of wool tartan cloth. Some of you will recognize the doorway.
As they say in my neck of the woods, or them voices in me head says "Sounds like a plan, as they say over in Pontefract".
Hopefully the chap who is running the show can expand on who is teaching? The theme etc? is it just a case of everyone turn up and the high grades teach?
Ah but will you get a visa to come to England from far off Scotland, Sounds like its going to be an interesting year for seminars this year in the UK
The kilt looks a wee bit short there Dale, did you measure it correctly? ...and you're missing flashes for your socks The missing Sgian dubhs we won't go into because we know the regulations for carrying offensive weapons ....hmm, but seikhs still get to carry knives?
Historically, the hem of the feileadh mor was variable -- anywhere from knee to mid-thigh. (Putting it on: http://www.phouka.com/kilts/kilt_wrap.html) The "proper" range for modern kilts runs anywhere from center of the knee to two inches above. You just don't see the flashes -- or the razor-sharp Cold Steel sgian dubh in my right stocking top, which was a big hit with all the shihan at Soke's birthday party (which was where I wore this). On the way back from the party some buyu and I stopped in Shibuya to find some dinner, where the most drop-dead gorgeous Japanese girl I have EVER seen in my life tried to pick me up. Alas, I was unable to manage to twist off my wedding ring surreptitiously behind my back, which was a source of great amusement to my companions.
As far as i know, i emailed the guy the other day, but getting information about who is teaching, what they are teaching etc seems in short supply. I was going to book early but i'm waiting now, until i get more information.
