Hey Fellow TKD'ers and MAP'ers, As often happens I got lost in internet land and stumbled across a Yudo "organization" called (Chong Tong Kwan-Yudo). The entire site is dedicated to "Military Arts" and a circle of organizations that all appear interlinked like a bad automated voice response system. One of these organizations is the KMAIA. Although their current website appears defunked there are a few links floating around online. I was wondering if anyone has heard of or had any dealings with this or any related group. Thoughts and opinions? http://www.chungtongyudo.co.kr/ Regards, Spooks
Not heard of them, but some of their "Where We Stand" essays seem very biased.. especially against the ITF! Some of it twists certain facts and other bits of it are just plain incorrect! And they have to do all that to 'legitimise' themselves!!! Go figure! Stuart
I have seen this website several times & I was amazed at the harsh criticism for such an important man in the KMAs, but just figured more of the same hatred by people who probably never met, talked to or trained under Gen. Choi. So go figure! But I never gave his webpage any real serious thought as it is a diatribe that contains many mistakes on simple matters like dates & places. He is ill informed at best, but seems to be gung ho in his hatred for such a pivotal person in the KMAs. I just wonder where he got his misinformation from. These links will shed some additional light on the man whose name appears on the bottom of these diatribes. But from what I gather he seems to rag many other entities not just the ITF & Gen. Choi! http://www.bullshido.net/forums/showthread.php?t=94121&page=1 http://realtaekwondo.tripod.com/ http://www.naming-schemes.org/~chardin/jfconnolly/emails/kja.html http://www.naming-schemes.org/~chardin/jfconnolly/emails/andreas1.html http://www.naming-schemes.org/~chardin/jfconnolly/emails/andreas3.html
I've never heard of this group - the rhetoric sounds a bit harsh, almost proactively trying to keep people from looking at alternatives. This is the author of most of the pieces I read http://www.usjjf.org/bio/connolly/index.htm The link for one of the "only recognized" hapkido groups they mention is the one Richard Hackworth is prominent in... http://www.haemukwan.com/
The KMAIA has had a reputation for sometime of making provocative comments as a way of gaining notoriety. The individual who shepards the group seems to subscribe to the idea that "all publicity is good publicity". My sense is that we are not talking about an individual who is really worth discussing. FWIW. Best Wishes, Bruce
Thanks for the help... Hey Guys, Thanks for the quick info (Thomas and TKDstudent specifically). I did some of my own research and located the same information. A KHF contact made a onnections with Hackworth (aka Rick Love...hahahahaha) and I further read the Bullshido posts with corresponding emails from Korea Judo. Wow...how do these types sleep at night:bang: Regards, Spooks
