Dunno if this is the right place to post but anyhoo. I got this problem with my right knee. Whenever I fully bend my right leg and put pressure one it, the tendon or something logs up and it is agony to extend my leg and unlock it. After this my right leg is pretty much paralised for about 5 mins or so. Anyone know what might be wrong or how to fix it?
Did you hyper extend your leg? When i have done that, it feels much the way you explained when trying to fully extend the leg afterward. I hate that feeling, it makes me want to kick things, but that just hurts my leg more.
Bend, not extend my leg. it just happened one day at a skate park and has continued ever since. I don't get it. It's just, once my heel reaches my ass, that's when it locks up. It's alright if I don't put any pressure on it tho.
I'm getting my membership at a gym in like a week or so. Would there be trainers or somethin' there with a good knowledge of sports injuries and stuff or would I be better off getting it checked out at a hospital?
Will do, thanx. Altho it hasn't caused any problems at all with sports or anything. Just once during a stretching excercise when I had to bend one leg and extend the other. Other excercises are fine.
The problem is that many general docs are pretty clueless when it comes to such things and will just refer you to a physio anyway -and all this eats time. Seeing a goos qualified sports physio ASAP is still my best recommendation.
It might be this or that, it might be nothing. But, you have to see someone, either a doctor who specialised in sports medicine, or a therapist who works with athletes. Don't neglect injuries, they pile up and after a while your health situation will get only worse. Take care of it on time.
hmmm iv got a question on knees 2 2day at work i dislocated my right knee, after a few hrs in a and e im ok again but how long do you think i should keep from training? i do ninjutsu btw
I actually meant physio. Docs was just my term for medical professional in general, sorry. I've been through it a fair few times to know to go straight to one rather than the doctor who either gives out the typical either straight to hospital or ice and rest and come back in a month.
Hey Mr Jirugi. I do not know if you saw my reply before it was deleted. I was not being flippant. I was totally serious. The idea behind what I said is not something that can be fixed overnight or within months. It will take you literally years to correct the problem if the reason I advanced does indeed apply to you. If you did not see my reply and do not know what I am talking about, don't be concerned. We can't talk about it here because there are kids on the board. I will just forget I ever said anything.
