Just got up from my desk and did 40 without a warm up. No idea how many I can do warmed up. When I did loads in my twenties I could do 100 without stopping. Long time ago though.
Depends on the width - My max, without rest, or a warm-up, for 'standard' push ups is 40-45 (have done 45 in the past, and have just done 40 to confirm this) but for military push ups (which is my usual go-to width) is only 25-30 (last I checked) Push ups have always been a weak spot for me, so unlike Simon, the rep counts that I can hit now, are the best I've ever been able to manage. Travess
Just tried and did 20. Hands shoulder-width, trying to go quite low, but that got worse towards the end. Hands further apart I could do more, I think. Push-ups are always a bit of a struggle and although I am improving, I still hope to get better ^^
If its not rude, may i ask how many you would have done in your 30'eis, am 30 now, just want to know, sorry if am being rude anyway!
How long have you training, in what age you started, sometimes i feel like i am too old for these things
I was insanely fit at 30, so probably still 100, but that shouldn't be a measure of where you are. If you have an instructor focused on flexibility then you'll probably more flexible than others your age. I had an instructor at 19 who did loads of sit up and I recall doing 600 without a stop. Stupid figures and we now know a minute of doing the plank is better than any amount of sit ups. I think 40 press ups at any age is pretty good.
I was up to 70 earlier this year, though that was after almost a year of hitting the gym hard to lose weight and build strength. Now, probably fewer as I've slacked off a bit!
Never got higher than about 25. But then I'm a weed and always found them difficult. Strength to weigh ratio ain't getting any better as I get older either.
Argh!! Curse you!! You're convicting me!! In the start of this year I could drop and do around 30, which at age 46 was pretty good, I'll have you know. But I had another birthday and I got lazy the rest of 2018. My personal best after my 40th birthday was 35 (or was it 37?) at one time.
